Karen Salon represents individuals as well as privately and publicly held companies in a wide range of complex civil litigation matters, including business disputes, real estate disputes, employment matters, personal injury, and medical malpractice. She also actively serves on the Committee For Public Counsel Services’ Post-Conviction Panel, handling criminal appeals for indigent clients. Prior to joining Sassoon & Cymrot, Ms. Salon spent nine years with Sally & Fitch LLP, one of Boston’s premier litigation boutiques. While at Sally & Fitch, Ms. Salon enjoyed considerable success in representing the firm’s clients in a wide range of matters, including complex tort matters, business disputes, banking matters, real estate disputes, and employment cases. In 2004, Ms. Salon joined Salon & Associates LLC, where she handled the firm’s civil cases. There, Ms. Salon’s efforts resulted in the favorable settlement in a major medical malpractice case, in which the defendant had failed to properly diagnose the firm’s client with what was later found to be squamous cell carcinoma.
Education:
Ms. Salon is a 1994 graduate, cum laude, of Boston University School of Law, where she was a member of the Wagner National Moot Court team, and a 1990 graduate of Bucknell University. Following law school, Ms. Salon worked as a law clerk for the Hon. Edward N. Cahn, then Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Bar Admissions:
Ms. Salon is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, as well as before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and the United States Court of Federal Claims. Her reported cases include Heinrich ex rel. Heinrich v. Sweet, 308 F.3d 48 (1st Cir. 2002), cert. denied, 539 U.S. 914 (2003) and Sweet v. United States, 53 Fed. Cl. 208 (Fed. Cl. 2002). She is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and serves on the board of Wilder Memorial Nursery School in Hingham, Massachusetts, as the school’s Legal Advisor.
